Runescape has coping with huge gold farming companies
For Fhynal, it’s only enough to help make ends meet for himself and his mom, so long as inflation does not hurl food prices to the stratosphere.
“The truth is, there are people who, when they did not play OSRS buy gold, they could not eat and could die of hunger,” a former Runescape farmer who wanted to remain anonymous told me on Facebook. “I have friends who play every day and if they don’t play, they don’t eat that day.”
Earlier this year, a local newspaper printed an article on the process. Runescape players, meanwhile, always report seeing heaps of gold farmers crowding up places like the Blast Mine and East Dragons.
This has caused growing tensions, with players performing everything from regularly demanding that programmer Jagex ban all gold farmers to publishing a guide that assists other players more effectively search, kill, and breeding farmers. “I have friends who play daily, and if they do not play, they don’t eat that day.”
“I never believed I’d see a manual on how to efficiently kill bad people,” read one cheap RS gold. “Literal humanitarian catastrophe going on there. People starving to death. [The guide’s author] thinks it is a fantastic plan to not only kill them taunt them in their own language and [teabag] them on return… That is some pretty arsehole shit right there,” read another.
